Reynolds Gallery was founded by Beverly Reynolds in 1977, making it Richmond, Virginia's first contemporary art gallery. Over nearly five decades, it has grown into one of the most respected galleries in the Mid-Atlantic region. Early exhibitions included works by Alexander Calder and Max Ernst; the gallery has since shown blue-chip artists such as Ellsworth Kelly, John Baldessari, Sally Mann, Tara Donovan, Donald Sultan, and Wolf Kahn. In 2014, Beverly's daughter Alice Livingston and former assistant director Julia Monroe became co-directors, continuing the gallery's commitment to exhibiting the highest caliber of contemporary art while building lasting relationships with collectors.
